​​Thomas Goodwin (1600 – 1680) was an English Congregational pastor and theologian. He served as President of Magdalen College of the University of Oxford. Goodwin also served as chaplain to Oliver Cromwell. He was a member of the Westminster Assembly. Goodwin helped write the Savoy Declaration. 

About this version: This is a reprint of an 1850 printing that is in the Public Domain. The 1850 version is a reprint of the original 1637 printing. This version, has been reformatted for modern printing, with KJV Scripture passages added for easy reference, and also a margin notes section added.

Vanity of Thoughts was first a sermon Goodwin preached at Holy Trinity Church in Cambridge, UK. 
Goodwin is buried at Bunhill Fields in London.
